Karin is an early childhood, percussion, and world music instructor in St. Cloud, MN. She holds a K-12 Music Educator License with experience teaching elementary music, choir, and percussion ensembles in Minnesota public schools. She has certificates in drum circle facilitation, Smithsonian Folkways World Music Pedagogy, and First Steps in Music and has an MA in Ethnomusicology. She studies West African drumming and dance, North Indian tabla, Javanese Gamelan, folk lever harp, Zimbabwean mbira & marimba, and plays lead pan in the Twin Cities’ Pan Handler’s Steel Drum band. She currently teaches Baby Beethoven (0-2 yrs), Mozart’s Musicians (2-5 yrs), African Drumming, African Dance, Zimbabwean Marimba, and private percussion lessons at the Wirth Center for the Performing Arts in St. Cloud, MN. Reading, building drums and marimbas, swimming, and being Mom to her two little girls are her favorite hobbies.
