Jennifer Harris – piano, voice, violin

Jennifer Harris has been a full time private piano instructor in Illinois for over 18 years. She moved to the Saint Cloud area to be near family. She is excited to teach piano and voice at the Wirth Center. She holds a Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degree in Music Education from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. She focused on piano, voice, and general music in her degree and teaching experience.

Jennifer loves teaching music students. She finds out how to motivate each student knowing age appropriate tools and literature. Her teaching approach is balanced with technique skills, core method literature, performance literature, and piano theory. Composition, aural skills, and harmonization basics are included in the core curriculum. Popular and sacred music is added based on student interest. Jennifer designed a beginner voice curriculum that will encourage correct technique and a lovely lyrical sound.

My approach to teaching violin, beginner to level 3, is a blend of Suzuki posture and traditional note reading and techniques.   I teach from the Essential Strings curriculum and supplement with the Suzuki violin books and other technique studies.  I draw upon the many years of lessons and performing to apply a variety of music and teaching tools that help each student achieve their best potential.  I am the director of Prairie Grass Folk Band for strings and keyboard.
