“School of Rock changed my life. That might be dramatic to say, but it’s really true.” Anna’s band, The Future, is made of members who all met by being involved in the Wirth Center’s School of Rock program in 2017, and they have since performed at many places in the local community—including opening at Summertime by George for a crowd of 5,000 people. Anna says, “Truly, I wouldn’t be where I am in music without School of Rock. If I could pinpoint the date at which my life started to really kick into gear, it would have been my first year in SoR in 2017. The people I’ve met & learned from have inspired me to be the best musician I can be. Being around people with that drive showed me how passionate I could be about music, and now it’s something I could never leave behind. The community built through School of Rock is incredible. I’ve experienced it as a student, where I met wonderful friends and future bandmates; I’ve experienced it as a student instructor, through which I got to know these insanely talented and driven musicians.”
