Students interested in other instruments will be connected with the appropriate teacher after notifying the office of their interest.
For further information and a complete list of our policies, please see our Registration page.
All scheduling requests shall be addressed with your teacher. Tuition or school policy questions shall be directed to the WCPA office.
Group Instruction
The following Group Learning Opportunities are available:
Class Piano:
Piano Explorers I:
Introduce your child to the joy of learning to play the piano in this classroom and keyboard lab experience for groups of 5 -6 students. Includes rhythm activities, singing, movement, performance, music reading and writing, and piano practice. Ages 5 - 8 years
Instructor: Brenda Handel-Johnson
Piano Explorers II:
One hour lesson each week plus multiple mini private lessons throughout the semester. This class provides a foundation for piano study in a group setting and eventually semiprivate lessons. Music learning is fun as children are invited to explore music through piano, movement, singing, instruments and group activities. Children will be encouraged to improvise, compose and perform through listening, reading notation, and imitation. A parent will need to accompany the child to each lesson to assist with tasks and assignements. No musical training is necessary for the parent. This is a great class to introduce children to piano before committing to private lessons. The class will culminate with a party featuring a MONSTER piano duet. Ages 6 - 9 years
Instructor: Brenda Handel-Johnson
Music Theory:
Thinking about taking the MMTA Music Theory Level I exam in the coming fall or spring? Brush up on the skills needed to pass with flying colors. Over six, one hour lessons, this class will cover all the basics. St. Cloud fall test date is in early November.
Instructor: Jeanine Barrett
